Sour fruit of the Atlantic Forest, shaped like a flying saucer. Used in jams and artisanal liqueurs.

History and Origins

Cambuci is native to the Atlantic Forest, especially in the southeast of Brazil. It was consumed by indigenous people and, in the colonial period, became an ingredient in liqueurs and sweets typical of Sao Paulo. Today, it is a symbol of biodiversity rescue.
