Description

Small round fruit, red or black, with juicy pulp and sweet flavor. Cultivated in temperate regions, rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C.

History and Origins

Cherries originated in Europe and Western Asia, cultivated for over 2,000 years by Greeks and Romans. In Brazil, cultivation began in the 20th century, mainly in cold southern regions, but most cherries consumed are still imported.
