Scaly green fruit resembling a pinecone. The white pulp is creamy, granular, and extremely sweet. Also known as Sweetsop or Pinha.

History and Origins
Native to the tropical Americas and West Indies. It was the first Annona introduced to Brazil (in Bahia) by the Governor Diogo Luis de Oliveira, the Count of Miranda (hence "Fruta do Conde" - Count's Fruit).
Fun Facts
The fruit is ripe when it feels soft and the segments start to separate. It is very sweet but has many black seeds that must be spit out.
