Small translucent red berry with tart-sweet flavor. Used in juices, jams, and desserts. Not to be confused with the hibiscus syrup "Groselha" popular in Brazil.

History and Origins
Redcurrant is native to Europe and Asia. Cultivated since the Middle Ages. In Brazil, it is grown in cold mountainous regions. The famous Brazilian "Xarope de Groselha" is largely artificial or hibiscus-based, not true currant!

True Redcurrants grow in beautiful clusters like miniature grapes. They are very tart and rich in pectin, making them perfect for jams.
