Description

Amazonian fruit with smooth yellow-orange skin and white, sweet-tart pulp. Used in jams and fresh consumption.

History and Origins

Native to the Amazon and Cerrado. Name means "small Bacuri". It is less commercially known than Bacuri but appreciated locally.

It has a thinner shell than the true Bacuri and is easier to open. Often used to shade coffee plantations.
